German market readiness for international brands

Make your German customer journey feel native — and work at scale.

I help international e-commerce and digital product teams find and fix localization, content, UX and QA issues across the German customer journey — then build the workflows that keep quality consistent as you grow.

Common challenges

Selling to Germany is more than translating a website.

The most expensive problems often sit between language, customer journey, content operations and the way new releases get localized.

DE

Mixed German and English

Customers hit untranslated or inconsistent content as they move from landing page to product, checkout or support.

AI

AI/MT copy that sounds translated

The meaning may be correct, but phrasing, tone and product language still feel foreign or generic.

Aa

Inconsistent terminology and tone

Du/Sie, product names, CTAs and recurring terms change between pages, channels or releases.

German campaigns land on weak pages

Paid or organic traffic reaches pages that were translated later, partially, or without the campaign context.

Trust friction in the buying journey

Shipping, returns, payments, product information and reassurance copy do not fully match German customer expectations.

The same issues keep coming back

Without a shared glossary, QA rules and a clean workflow, every campaign or release creates avoidable rework.

How I help

Find the issue. Fix it in context. Prevent it from returning.

I can join at the point where you need help now — and, where useful, turn the fix into a better repeatable process.

German Market Readiness

See the German experience the way your customer sees it.

I review the journey as one connected experience instead of treating every page or string as an isolated translation task. The goal is to identify what creates confusion, weakens trust or simply does not feel native in Germany.

  • Homepage, landing pages, product/feature pages and navigation
  • Language consistency, tone of voice, terminology and untranslated content
  • Trust, shipping, payments, returns and customer-facing reassurance
  • Campaign-to-landing-page consistency and high-impact conversion friction
  • Prioritized findings by impact, effort and confidence

Shopify & E-Commerce

Make the German storefront feel intentional, not translated.

I work across the content that actually shapes an e-commerce journey — and, where access allows, directly inside the localization and content tools instead of handing your team another spreadsheet to implement.

  • Product pages, collections, metafields, filters and navigation
  • FAQs, shipping/returns, cart and checkout-adjacent messaging
  • Landing pages, campaign content, newsletters and lifecycle copy
  • Shopify Translate & Adapt, Weglot, T-Lab and in-context QA
  • Glossary and tone-of-voice consistency across ongoing updates

SaaS & App Localization

Natural German inside the product — not only on the marketing site.

For software, good localization has to work in context. I review language together with UI constraints, recurring terminology and the product flow so the German experience stays clear from onboarding to help content.

  • UI strings, onboarding, notifications, settings and app-store content
  • Websites, landing pages, help centers and product education
  • Character limits, placeholders, variables and layout fit
  • Direct Figma review and TMS-based localization workflows
  • Terminology management and in-context linguistic QA

Localization Systems & QA

Fix the process, not only the next string.

When the same quality issues keep returning, I help turn the recurring fixes into reusable rules and a cleaner review workflow. AI can speed up repeatable work, while human judgment stays at the final quality gate.

  • AI/MT translation review and failure-pattern identification
  • Glossaries, style guidance and tone-of-voice rules
  • QA checklists, release gates and clear human review points
  • Content handoffs and implementation checks across teams/tools
  • Practical automation opportunities only where the process is already understood

About

Hi, I’m Marc.

I’m a bilingual German-English localization professional with more than a decade of language, e-commerce and customer-facing experience. Before focusing fully on localization, I worked in e-commerce and account management, including running a German online store and retail operation.

Today I work across e-commerce, SaaS, apps and AI-assisted localization QA. I’m at my best where language, customer journey and operations overlap: finding what feels wrong to a German user, fixing it in context, and making the process easier to repeat.
